Here you will find suggestions of community events you might attend, both on and off campus, to complete your assignments.
Fairfax County Government’s Calendar of Public Events is a good place to track down meetings on a very wide range of issues and aspects of local community life. You may also make contact with officials and attendees who might prove crucial to your research project, especially if you choose your meetings carefully. You can plan ahead by using the calendar on the top left of the screen.
Events on Campus
Resident Student Association (RSA) meetings build campus community amongst residents in the housing areas by promoting programs, student-run activities, and engagement. They plan campus-wide activities and ones within each housing area. I’m an RA in DUCC so my knowledge at this point pertains to the meeting in that housing area, but everyone is welcome!
